What My Support Looks Like

As a board certified mental health nurse practitioner, I have training in both psychopharmacology and psychotherapy.

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Early intervention reduces the risks of chronic diseases related to anxiety, stress, and substance abuse. Mental health treatment empowers us to navigate challenges, build meaningful relationships, and destigmatize how we think about, approach, and identify mental health issues in our society.

I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, post traumatic stress disorder, adult ADHD, and borderline personality disorder in persons aged 10-65. I believe that each person deserves individualized care. My goal is to improve access and quality of psychiatric services in communities through a holistic patient-centered approach. I will provide psychopharmacologic management while creating a collaborative relationship with a diverse patient population.

 

In My Free Time

I am a full-time clinician who’s married with two kids, so free time is not particularly familiar. In the off chance that I do have a moment or two, I enjoy gardening, spending time outdoors and staying up to date on psychiatric journal articles. I am an avid reader as well. We have three Maine Coon cats which comparably speaking are the size of small lions.

Education & Experience

I received my Associate in Science and Associate in Nursing degree from Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa, in 2016. While in school I served on the Nurses Association both LPN and ADN year. I then continued my education at Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2017. During this time, I worked at a substance use residential and detox center in addition to an adult inpatient psychiatric unit. Further, I completed my Master of Science in Nursing degree from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri, in 2020.
